The rivers of Corsica offer magnificent panoramas, between waterfalls and slides… This is the case of the Fango (or Fangu) which takes its source from the heights of Capu Tafunatu. It ends its descent in the middle of the Mediterranean, in the Gulf of Galeria – between Porto and Calvi.
To swim there, there are several bridges that span the Fangu between the village of Manso and the Gulf of Galeria. You will not be alone, far from it, there are many tourists, especially in July/August. For less touristy places, the Gulf of Galeria offers magnificent landscapes and fits very well into a route lasting several days on the north-western coast of Corsica
Take the start 2 km after the Calvi road crossroads, heading towards Porto. Magnificent views of old bridges and small rivers await you. Then, you will walk along the splendid beach. Towards the West, you will pass the beautiful rocks of Tafoni, the Notre-Dame de la Serra chapel and the must: the magical view of the sensational peaks of the Gulf of Calvi, 2,000 m high !
