BODRI BEACH

Bodri Beach

Located in Corbara in Balagne, this sandy beach is 400m long and is one of the most beautiful in northern Corsica. Bodri beach ends the Gulf of Ile Rousse, 2 km from the town, and to the west of Calvi. This real dream beach runs along Pointe de Ginèbre, a preserved natural site.

Its fine white sand borders turquoise water, making this postcard landscape a very popular place for tourists and swimmers, who can take advantage of a gentle slope to enter the water, suitable for families and children.

A few rounded rocks even give it a little air of small Seychelles so that its description of a paradise beach is far from being usurped.

There can be a few waves offshore, so it is not uncommon to find a few surfers there out of season.

During the summer, the beach is supervised. The beach restaurant is not always open, but you will find a small food truck nearby for a sandwich, an ice cream or a cold drink. A path also takes you to Giunchettu beach, a little less wild and with a few more people, but where you will find straw huts if you want to have lunch on the sand in a slightly shaded way.

The northern part of the beach, towards Ile-Rousse, is reserved for naturist practice.

To reach Bodri Beach from the town center of Ile Rousse, you must take the direction of Calvi via the D513. At the roundabout, take the N197 towards Lumio. 200 meters after a campsite, you will find the Bodre car park (local name) on your right.

There is a charge for parking (€2.50 for the day, free from 6 p.m.).

The beach is then easy to access on foot, via a small path passable in flip-flops at the exit of the car park. Ce chemin traverse la petite voie ferrée du Train des Plages, qui permet aussi de rejoindre la Plage de Bodri au départ de Calvi et de l’Ile Rousse : il effectue plusieurs arrêts par jour pour rejoindre la mer.

The last solution, perhaps in reality the most pleasant if you are not too busy, is to come on foot from Ile Rousse along the literal coastal path, on a very simple path of barely 2 km and beautiful. When you arrive, you will see the small village of Corbara, typical of traditional villages, clinging to the mountainside.
